India is home to a large fraction of hypertensive patients but it lacks qualitative data needed to set our own standards for high blood pressure. Along with this a large number of individuals are unaware about their hypertensive status which leads to complications in the long term. These can be avoided with early detection and intervention. We need a holistic approach to tackle this situation.
